The Creative Process

I write, rehearse, rewrite, edit, record, rerecord, edit some more, breathe, veer and sometimes lose myself. Over time, pieces take shape and settle.

I stay with solo piano because it is the most demanding format for me — both playing-wise and recording-wise for me. The instrument has become my portal for life, ideas, solace and inspiration.Its taken on the heavy lifting and joys that is me.

Recording Journey

After years of working and developing these compositions, certain motifs evolved into the full work. I recorded at various studios then spent years wrestling with arrangements interpretations and budget.

I stripped away everything and returned to the original versions. This led to recording sessions and acoustics space to reveal its own character.

Back in Marin, I recorded further -decided to score all work moving forward as well as start working on media and formats with very talented co-creators -the Cast - those individuals that moved each part of this process thru sometimes just been there- others showing up - or simply great people that kept my passion moving forward. People of all sorts of skills and so many great stories -the doors an Amazing Journey. 

Mastering and Completion

All tracking and editing happened in my studio at Cadillacs and Stars - formerly (Passion Star Music) The process was meticulous — listening, sorting, selecting, editing, reediting, and gradually settling on the final shape.

It is the crafted work that I hope you enjoy.
